Appointments

Please call 772123 or call at the surgery.  We work by appointment for non-urgent cases. 

Urgent cases will be seen immediately or on the same day depending on the severity of the individual case. 

Should the doctor of your choice be unavailable you will always be offered an alternative doctor or an appointment with our nurse practitioner who is also qualified to prescribe medicines.

If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know.

Let us know if you require a downstairs consulting room.

Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen.

Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

GP Training

Waterloo House Surgery is a training practice for student doctors. As a training practice, your medical records may be used for educational purposes and the student doctors may be present during your consultation, we will always request permission from you first  when a student doctor is going to be present during your consultation

Disabled Access

There is parking available at the front of the surgery and suitable disabled access. If you are seeing a doctor who is using an upstairs consulting room and you would like to be seen downstairs please let the receptionist know.

The surgery has a manual wheelchair which may be used for patients within the surgery

As a practice we offer specific telephone consultations and reserved 'same day' appointments for children.

If you require advice about your child please telephone the surgery and reception will assist you by arranging a phone call with the Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse or by booking an appointment.
