Casualties and Minor injuries

We provide a service for casualties and minor injuries Monday – Friday from 08:00 to 18:30 hrs. Patients with a minor injury may either come directly to the surgery or contact us by telephone beforehand on 01229 772123. The receptionist will need to ask for details of the problem in order to decide how urgent the case is and you will then be seen by our duty nurse who may also call the duty doctor to assist if necessary. If the nature of the problem is severe after initial assessment, we may refer you to Furness General Hospital.

At weekends and between the hours of 18:30hrs and 08:00hrs patients are advised to either telephone Cumbria Health On Call 0845 052 4999 or go directly to Furness General Hospital, Accident and Emergency. If the casualty or injury is very severe and the patient is unconscious or immobile then telephone 999.
