We run all our surgeries by an appointment-only system. Appointments can be booked by telephoning the surgery, visiting the surgery in person or online.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days
- Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app).
- Use your Patient Access account
- Phone us Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm.

Home visits
For patients who are housebound, due to illness or disability, we offer home visits. If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00am.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email.
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.

If you need help when we are closed
If the situation is an emergency or life threatening, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.
For urgent medical advice between 6.30pm and 8.30am weekdays, or during weekends and Bank Holidays, use NHS 111.
For children under 5 phone 111.
For people aged 5 and over go to the 111.nhs.uk website.

Extended hours
The surgery is open for GP/Nurse Practitioner clinics at 7:00am twice weekly (contact the surgery reception team to make an appointment or book through Patient Access)
Cumbria Health On Call (CHOC) operate an appointment service during week-ends at Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General hospital – your GP/Receptionist can book a routine (non-urgent) appointment for you if you would like to use this service – telephone 01229 486924.

- If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
